Thanksgiving in France 2007

Thanksgiving 2007 happened twice. We were lucky enough to be invited on Thursday afternoon for a wild turkey dinner by Collin and Anne in St. Chapte with friends and family. Collin is South African and Anne is American. The farmer they ordered the turkey from called up in the morning and said, "I'm coming right over with the turkey." Ten minutes later he honks his horn suggesting they come out to get the turkey. Sitting in the back seat was an alive, feathery, wild gobbly turkey.  "You want fresh. This is fresh." Off with his head -- and so we had a very fresh turkey ...

Saturday evening after the first chorale concert we were invited to our now third Thanksgiving with the Tills; Lucy, Peter, Esme, Lara, and Cameron plus a few other family members traveling from England to Spain. Again a mixed American/ English couple we ate a traditional feast and swung from the chandelers in celebration. Just kidding.. but Lucy did have a iron chandeler wrapped in greenery with candles twirling in a circle.. I starred at it half the night it was so beautiful.
