Interview the authors of this two - time award winning book on living your big dreams and creating joie de vivre every day.

Think the promotion and the bigger paycheck you’ve been working toward 24/7 will unlock the door to happiness and peace of mind?

Think again, say Suzanne Saxe-Roux and her husband, Jean Roux, co-authors of Courage and Croissants.   A truly joyful, healthy, balanced life will come from:

  • Focusing on your key passions and priorities and not worrying about the rest
  • Enjoying mealtime like the French do
  • Seeking meaningful endeavors and relationships
  • Resetting our priorities to focus on the quality of our daily lives.
  • Do something different every once in awhile
  • Do at least one thing you profoundly enjoy each day

In this era of uncertainty about retirement, it’s more important than ever to choose a lifestyle that’s both fulfilling in the present and sustainable over time.

Suzanne Saxe-Roux, Ed.D. and Jean P. Roux, Ph.D., are successful business consultants and coaches.  Jean is also a health psychologist and psychotherapist.  In their new book, Courage and Croissants, they draw on their experience living in the south of France to explain how to reclaim the joy and happiness that has dropped out of our definitions of progress and the American dream.  For more information, visit

The Benjamin Franklin™ Awards are sponsored by the Independent Book Publishers Association, and celebrate excellence in editorial and design for titles published in the year 2010. Judges for the Benjamin Franklin Awards come from all areas of the industry: major newspaper and trade media reviewers, bookstore and library buyers and reviewers, non-competing publishers, artists and writers who serve the industry.

Awards were presented on Monday, May 23, 2011 on the eve of BookExpo America 2011 in New York City, at which time winners were recognized for setting the standard and the pace for the publishing industry.

The Eric Hoffer Award is given for the best in prose and independent books. The Finalist award is for top 1-6 books in each category. Less than 10% of the books make it to the finalist category.

“Courage and Croissants is a spa for the soul. In these uncertain times, we owe it to ourselves to take stock, and ask whether we are creating the kinds of lives we want to live.”
