Montpellier, France 4 bedroom Apartment for Rent

Capital of the Languedoc-Roussillon region, less than 3 hours from Barcelona and Italy and just 11 km from the Mediterranean Sea, Montpellier is the ideal place to discover a high-spirited city and some of the most prestigious world heritage sites.

Avant garde and open, Montpellier cultivates its differences and opens its arms to you. The city is a university town with nearly 70,000 students reside in the immediate area. Thanks to this youthful influence, there is an abundance of festivals, cafés and other experiences just waiting to happen. People of all ages take classes at nominal fees through the university.

Vibrant and active, Montpellier is a city that is simply alive and waiting to be discovered.. Montpellier has its own Arc de Triomphe, the exquisite Musee Fabre, two opera houses, and one of the largest squares in Europe - exploring the city is a joy and can easily and happily encompass the entire scope of your stay. The city has a great music scene and there is always something happening in this very vibrant, active university town. Montpellier is also a great base for exploring Southern France, located 10km from some of the nicest beaches in the Mediterranean. 
The South of France is world famous for its consistently sunny weather, the beautiful blue of the sky and sea and the relaxed yet chic atmosphere. The Montpellier area is particularly blessed with miles of white sand beaches, coastal lagoons full of oysters and mussels and the Camargue Nature Reserve, with black bulls, wild white horses and a myriad of bird life including thousands of pink flamingos. Tour nearby chateaux and abbeys and dine on wonderful gourmet meals. Kayak, sail, kite surf, dive, fish, or swim in the Mediterranean or just bask in the sun. 
Enjoy the Mediterranean end of the famous Canal du Midi, lined with sycamore trees, lilies and lovely villages. The Canal is perfect for a long walks and picnics. Explore truly amazing engineering that has functioned for over 300 years, including the nearby Fonséranes staircase – nine ancient locks, the famous aqueduct over the Orb. 
Also, enjoy tasting the acclaimed regional wines of the Languedoc. In this relatively small area there are thirty appellations. Over the last 20 years Languedoc has actively remade itself with a focus on quality production and organic wines. Visiting some of the award wining wineries, driving country roads through the vines and picnicking in the country side is a great way to spend a day or two. 
Nîmes is less than an hour away and is spectacular for its Roman history and sites including the best preserved Aréna and Roman temple in the world. A short drive from Nîmes is the Pont du Gard, the Roman built aqueduct to serve Nîmes and the third most visited site in France. Provence is also next door, less than a 90 minute drive. Shop for antiques and enjoy weekend flea markets in Isle-sur-la-Sorge, and visit Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Orange, Arles, Aix, and Avignon, for example.
Finally, return each evening to relax in your own private apartment. With your fresh market purchases only a minute away, you may make your own coq au vin in the fully-equipped, gourmet kitchen or take the tram to one of the 100s of great restaurants in Montpellier (including a three star Michelin) to enjoy the local cuisine. The apartment is on the 3rd etage (2nd floor) and is situated with two apartments on each floor. There is an elevator that is situated half way between the floors (that means you have to be able to walk at least 6 stairs.) It is very spacious with wonderful light coming from large windows and glass doors and 4 bedrooms. The apartment is a see through apartment with windows facing northeast and southwest. Perfect for morning and afternoon sun without it getting too hot. The apartment has been totally renovated and has everything new; brand new kitchen with breakfast room facing northeast for morning sun, top of the line Fratelli Onofri stove/oven, microwave, frig, freezer, dishwasher, pantry, and washer and dryer. All new tile and white wood parquet floors, new windows, heaters, and high end bathroom with shower and bath combination. There is a second sink in one of the bedrooms and a separate toilet.  The apartment is approximately 100 sq meters and flows easily.

The fully equipped kitchen, sun room and living room flow into one in an open plan. The master bedroom contains a large built in closet with a king size high end mattress. The second bedroom has a trundle bed that pulls out to a queen. This room also houses the washer and dryer  and a modern sink behind closed doors. The third bedroom has a queen size bed with a built in new armoire closet. The fourth bedroom has a trundle bed as well that pulls out to a queen and a computer table and chair for a home office.

The living room is light and airy and feels like you are living outdoors. There is a 3 seat and a 2 seat couch and ottoman. The dining area is connected to the living room with a table to seat 8 and able to pull out to seat 12. There are 8 dining chairs.

The apartment is wired with fiber optic internet cable which allows for fast internet connection and an assortment of TV shows to watch via your computer.

The apartment is a private residence and enclosed with a locked gate so safety is assured. Two parks face each side of the apartment providing for a green view in every direction. Across the street is a fruit and legume stand, a small store and a pizzeria. Down the street are all the essentials of a patisserie, boucherie, pharmacie and more. Approximately a 5 minute walk is a market and more stores such as a midi-libre, boucherie, fruit stand, hairdresser, post office, café, patisserie, and more.

We are a 3 minute walk to the Line 2 tram stop between Le Masson and St. Cleophaus (see map ). We are two stops from the Gare which is a one block walk to Place l’Comedie. There is a transfer at the Gare to the Line 1 and soon Line 3 that provides total access throughout the city.

Down the street is a covered swimming pool open all year round. There are also 8 other swimming pools around the city available for your use.

You don’t need a car, but to get away into the country or go to the beach (although the tram will open in 2012 to go to the beach). If you do have a car, our exit is the Ouest (west) exit or 3rd exit. We are a few minutes off the freeway which prevents you from getting tangled in traffic driving further into the city. You can drive to the beach (Palavos and Carnon) without getting on the freeway (go under) through to Latte and then to Palavos in 15 minutes.

Neighborhood. The neigborhood is fairly calm and quiet and all the neighbors are nice. Many are retired, professionals and a few new families. There is however a train that goes by (not far away) that can be heard when all the doors and windows are open. It is quite charming. At night when sleeping we just close the windows and turn on the fan if needed and sleep soundly.

By the Month-September through June if rent for 3 months - 10 months:  Euro 2,000 / month all inclusive 

An additional cleaning fee will be charged for rentals for one month or more.
